Client Services Team Lead
Kirby has a background in the care sector and has worked with older people including dementia care both in residential and community settings.
She wanted to progress from a Care Assistant role and so embarked on a Social Work degree in 2009. This opportunity provided experience working with young people in a Foyer and Youth Work setting, adults with learning disabilities and adults with mental health issues.
It was during my final year placement at CASS+ (Community Advice & Support Service) based within the Cornwall Magistrates Courts that inspired Kirby to change her career path. Working with people to help them to identify their underlying issues that caused the offending behaviour not only widened her experiences of individual life journeys, but really opened her eyes to how providing an early intervention is key to reducing the cycle of re-offending as well as providing the person with the opportunity to change their lives for the better.
In January 2013, she joined Harbour as a Support Worker Assistant looking forward to a challenging role that would enable me her support vulnerable and homeless people. She continued to volunteer one day per week with CASS+ as she was driven by the desire to help people in striving to achieve a better future.
In 2019, Kirby became the Team Lead for Client Support Services: supported accommodation. The job brings with it many challenges at times and without the team’s passion, enthusiasm, and dedication they could not make the difference that we do.

Outside of work Kirby enjoys spending time with her family. She likes being outdoors and can often be found at the beach, on woodland walks and going on adventures in her camper van. She also love creating art out of pebbles, shells and sea glass.
