Head of Supported Living & Care Services
Alex lives with his partner and two dogs, Diego and Henry.
He grew up in rural South Devon, and relocated to Cornwall from Brighton in March 2020 in order to be closer to his family and enjoy a more relaxed, calm lifestyle.
His main hobbies include hiking, surfing, mountain biking, playing the guitar and reading, and he can usually be found on or near a beach in his free time!
Alex has worked in Health and Social Care for over ten years, beginning his career as a support worker in a residential home for individuals with severe physical and learning disabilities. Following on from this, he spent time working across a variety of different settings including supported living, residential care homes, domiciliary care and outreach services before progressing on to a managerial position within a residential setting for young adults with profound and severe disabilities.
For the last five years, he has managed ‘outstanding’ rated residential and domiciliary care services providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable adults and children. Alex is passionate about providing the highest quality care and support possible and improving the lives of others, as well as supporting them to grow and develop as individuals.
He is thoroughly looking forward to commencing his role as Head of Support with Harbour Housing. His initial aim is to enable Harbour to become registered with Care Quality Commission (CQC), so that the charity is able to provide the ‘personal care’ element of support to individuals with complex needs. Moving forward, he hopes to develop innovative and exciting projects that will enable Harbour Housing to grow as a care providing organisation and be able to support more vulnerable people in the local community.
