Aaron Greenaway

Aaron is our Communications and Research Officer here at Harbour Housing.

Joining Harbour Housing in January 2022, his adventures to date have seen him launch and run a community radio station, NCB Radio, where he presents a weekly show and acts as a station producer to this day in addition to appearing on ITV’s The Chase (he didn’t win) and unveil the first public look inside the redevelopment of Bodmin Jail via Facebook Live.

His career to date has seen him do a multitude of different jobs, ranging from spending two years as a Community Carer, a number of years working in retail for different supermarkets, where he was trained up to a supervisor level in addition to work as a freelance content writer and web assistant for a digital web agency. More recently, he spent just shy of two years working as a Journalist for Reach PLC.

Educated to Masters level at Plymouth Marjon University, Aaron holds both a upper second class BA (Batchelor of Arts) award with honours in addition to a MRes (Master of Research) degree, both in Journalism. He was the first person in his family to ever achieve a Master’s Degree.

His undergraduate dissertation covered the British Media’s portrayal of Jeremy Corbyn, titled “Seeing Red: Is the British Media unfair in its portrayal of Jeremy Corbyn?” while his Master’s thesis focused on whether the UK’s decision to leave the United Kingdom (Brexit) would lead to renewed demands for Scottish Independence, titled “Freedom of Movement: Could Brexit lead to Scottish Independence?”

Outside of work, Aaron has a few interests. These include being a life-long fan of Formula One and the British Touring Car Championship as well as being a long-suffering supporter of Southampton FC, listening to music, particularly the Manic Street Preachers and exploring new places and taking photos in his spare time.

In addition, Aaron is something of a history and railway enthusiast, although he’ll often remind you he’s not a trainspotter but rather enjoys the “history, engineering and architecture” of it. It’s probably not a coincidence his two favourite documentary series are the UKTV series ‘The Architecture the Railways Built’ and ‘Secrets of the London Underground’ with Tim Dunn.
