Join us as we celebrate the re-opening of the much-loved St Blazey Recycle Reuse Resale CIC reopens its doors on Saturday 5 April from 11 am.
After successfully securing new premises, which are bigger and better, they are ready to go!
Situated in the old AWC building (the opposite side of the grass from Middleway surgery) and on the main road facing the Co-Op in St Blazey.
Harbour Housing’s Group Operations Director has been invited as a VIP guest, along with staff and residents to the opening. All are welcome to attend and witness Cornwall’s best-loved recycling warehouse rise again.
Having been forced to close their doors last August, due to the loss of their warehouse, the community interest company has continued to serve the people of Cornwall by selling online, holding a Christmas Fair to finance Santa & gifts for local children and supplying hampers to families struggling.
At Harbour Housing, we have always expressed our unequivocal support for St Blazey Recycle, an organisation with which we have had the privilege of collaborating for over eight years. Harbour is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with complex needs,
such as substance misuse, domestic abuse, and physical and mental health issues, as well as those being discharged from the hospital, all with the common theme of being homeless at the point of coming to stay at any one of our projects, our mission is to assist them in transitioning towards independent living.
Once our clients have made this significant journey and become part of the communities in the St Blazey area, they often start with nothing. Their self-esteem is typically low, and they have no financial savings or family connections. Identifying organisations that can make a tangible difference in aiding them to move into new accommodations without reverting to homelessness or ill health is a formidable task.
This is where St Blazey Recycle becomes an invaluable partner. Not only are they our preferred partner, but they consistently deliver exceptional service. Our workers frequently bring clients to St Blazey Recycle when they need to furnish their new homes. The team at St Blazey Recycle treats our clients with empathy and respect, going above and beyond to ensure they feel excited about their new chapter. They offer a personal shopper service, colour-coordinating furnishings, and making our clients feel valued and respected. The impact of St Blazey Recycle extends beyond our clients. Our staff also turn to their facility during tough financial times, appreciating the high-quality second-hand goods that defy the stereotypes of low-cost shops and clientele.

“One of the women from our EVA Project, who moved into her own property and was amazed by the support that St Blazey Recycle gave her. She loved that it was all laid out in sections like a store and when looking at items nothing was too much trouble. The staff went above and beyond to find specific items for her (i.e kettle, microwave) by going out to the back and ensuring she could leave with what she needed.
