Where do we begin? This year we have been able to help 120 people who were facing homelessness to find their own home for Christmas this year. Our amazing key workers have delivered 45,179 hours of vital support and Harbour’s Housing Management team have provided 29,952 hours. This year, we’re providing 143 people with a home for Christmas.

Earlier this month, we hosted our annual Christmas Carol Concert, which gathered residents, staff and families in our courtyard at Little Cosgarne and sung festive songs, enjoyed hot chocolates and ate food generously provided by local businesses. Thank you to everyone who got involved, including Proper PastyCo, Kittow’s Quality Meats, Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream, Evolve Health Fitness & Wellbeing, White River Community Church, Esther, and the Harbour Choir, made up of residents and staff.

So much going on at Harbour in 2023!

Harbour’s building team have been extremely busy this year with several new properties coming online or currently being renovated to help provide more bed spaces for those who require Harbour’s services.

In October, we opened a new office in Par for our Accounts team and Harbour Care. This is also home to our new training room, which is used by Harbour Care staff for their domiciliary care training. We’ve also been fortunate to welcome many new staff members to our growing team this year, who have all settled in well into the Harbour family. Harbour staff have received lots of training this year, to ensure they provide the highest quality of care and services to our residents.

Throughout the year, we’ve been able to hold some great community partner events, whilst also representing Harbour to wider audiences at local events including Blue Light Day, Liskeard Show and St Austell College Hardship Event.

In August, we hosted another successful ‘Health For Homeless’ event at Cosgarne, allowing easy, drop-in access for our residents to use vital services. We welcomed some of brilliant partners including Healthy Cornwall, Iconic Hair and Beauty, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, The Hepatitis C Trust and Smile Together.
